What is the PRDTU/CHSS Professional Development Committee?
- The PRDTU/CHSS Professional Development Committee implements the professional development (PD) policies for teachers’ PD and manages reimbursements and funds in support of PD at the school.
- Each staff in SD52 has its own PD committee, as established through language in the Collective Agreement (in Article F – Professional Rights).
- The CHSS PD policies are approved by all CHSS PRDTU members at a union staff meeting. All teachers at CHSS may attend and vote on policies at these meetings.
- The PRDTU/CHSS Professional Development Committee is made up of teachers (PRDTU members) at CHSS.
- Any teacher (PRDTU member) may attend the committee’s meetings. Planning meetings are held throughout the year to involve teachers in developing, planning, and implementing school-based professional development at our school.
- Committee members are elected at the start-of-year union staff meeting.
- The current members (2025-26) of the PRDTU/CHSS Professional Development Committee are:
- Mr. Kertes (Chair and PD Representative for CHSS staff)
- Dueck
- Ms. Sawka
- The Chair of the school’s PD committee also represents CHSS staff at meetings of the PRDTU Professional Development Committee and the District Joint Professional Development Committee.
